Motorway concession contract: Corinth - Tripoli - Kalamata / Sparta, Section Leuktro - Sparta (EIAS 175):

The subject of this study is the amendment of the approved environmental terms in order to describe and refer to the new modified alignment.The mandate for the modification arose in the context of a more realistic, economical and environmentally friendly approach to the construction of the project «Leuktro - Sparta». Administratively the project comes under the authority of  the Peloponnese Region since it incurs the Prefectures of Arcadia and Laconia. The total length is approximately 45,8 km. PrefectureThe total width of the road seaction is 17,5 m including the central dividing lane. The construction of 4 interchanges, 11 overpasses, 8 underpasses, 1 railway bridge of 25m length and furthermore 12 double-bridges and 10 single-bridges of total length 2025 m as well as the construction of 4 tunnels of total length 2510 m is also envisaged.

Wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) of Korissia Municipality (EIAS 176):

This study constitutes the EIpAS of the works of transfer and biological treatment of wastewater of the Korissia Municipality. The project will serve 14.100 population equivalent. The wastewater transfer project constitutes of 48Km gravity pipelines, 11Km pressure pipelines and 6 pumping stations. Regarding the wastewater treatment the extended aeration treatment system will be applied with complete nitrogen removal and biological removal of phosphorous. Tertiary treatment will involve coagulation and mechanical filtration and UV disinfection. Treated effluent will be discharged to the sea by a 800m long undersea pipeline and appropriate system of diffusers.

The environmental impacts caused by the construction and operation of the project, were examined and evaluated and appropriate measures in order to tackle these effects were suggested.Assignment Authority: Korissia Municipality

Construction and operation of sewage pumping station in Moschato (EIAS 177):

This study is a Technical Report on the exclusion from the process of environmental licensing of a local pumping station in the sewage network of Athens. The need for placing of this pumping station resulted due to the construction of storm water drainage network of Moschato Municipality.

Study of additional land reclamation works in the district of Ierapetra (EIA 178):

This study constitutes the EIpAS of Myrtos dam and concerns the construction and operation of a dam, for flood balancing and supporting the inflow of the Bramianos irrigation dam. The dam is placed in the bed of Myrtos stream in PrefectureCrete Island. It will have a total capacity of 2.5x106m3 and a height of 37m.

Completion of the existing storm water collector in high areas of Moschato, Kallithea and Nea Smirni (EIAS 180):

This study constitutes the EIAS for the exclusion of the aforementioned project from the process of environmental licensing. The project aims to drain part of the catchment of the high areas of Moschato, Nea Smyrni and Kallithea towards Kifissos through the completion of the collector of high regions crossing Eleftheria street. The rest of the draining will be canalized in Ilisos river after the establishment of the existing diversion works. This project will serve the flood protection of the low areas of Moschato and Kallithea, which after the construction of the elevated coastal avenue, Possidonos and the embankments of Kifissos and Ilisos were converted into closed basins with no outlet.
