Study to improve the operation of the border Train Station of Eidomeni (EIAS 147):

This study constitutes the EIAS of the project. The object of the technical study is the necessary interventions (architectural, static, transport, hydraulics) that have to be made in improving the functionality of the station aiming at a functional as well as an aesthetic and environmental upgrade in order to meet the requirements of the corresponding border stations of the Country and the European Union. In particular, new operating standards and modern rooms are developed in the existing two-storey station building, a new building on the north side of the existing one is being constructed and the docks of the station are being redeployed with shelters of approximately 210 m length each.

Moreover, metal aerial walkways interconnecting the platforms are also manufactured and the surrounding area on the west side of the Station, which is within the limits of the plot, is formated, and to that extent that it is converted to parking, access and planting according to the architectural design. The necessary electromechanical plants for the perfect, modern and safe operation of the station are implemented and developed. Roads are reconstructed to access the station of total length 2 km and the necessary interventions for water supply, storm water drainage, sewerage and electricity supply are made. The project area lies within the GR 1220010 Site of Community Importance of the Natura 2000 network. In the study, the environmental impacts caused by the construction and operation of the project were examined and evaluated and appropriate measures in order to tackle these effects were suggested, while special emphasis was given on the assessment and evaluation of the project’s impacts on flora, fauna and ecosystems of the region given its high ecological value.

Works to modernize the Prefectural General Hospital of Chios «Skylitseio» (EIAS 148)

Works to modernize the Prefectural General Hospital of Chios «Skylitseio» (EIAS 148):

This study constitutes the EIpAS of the project.The projects include all the necessary work for the modernization of the existing Hospital of Chios "Skylitseio”, in order to become a complete, functional and modern Prefectural General Hospital, of 170 beds capacity, from 88 which are currently available. In the study, the environmental impacts caused by the construction and operation of the project were examined and evaluated, and appropriate measures in order to tackle these effects were suggested.

Construction and Operation of housing estate named PATRA XIIa (EIAS 149)

Construction and Operation of housing estate named PATRA XIIa (EIAS 149):

This study constitutes the EIpAS of the project that is implemented by the State Housing Agency in the location Eglykada of the Municipality of Patras of Achaia Prefecture. The study concerns the construction and operation of the housing estate along with the necessary infrastructure in area of 1,9 ha. The project is located outside the city development plan.

Within the land, the construction of 44 residential buildings with a two-storey roof is foreseen. The project also involves the construction of playground and car parks and landscaping works. The rest of the services to the residents will be provided by the city of Patra. The settlement will meet the urgent housing needs of 44 families or 110 people. In the study, the environmental impacts caused by the construction and operation of the project, including the impact of the project to the infrastructure network of the wider region, were examined and evaluated at a primary level and appropriate measures in order to tackle these effects were suggested.

Construction of blocks of flats in the location «Morfi» Perivolia, Lefkada (EIAS 150)

Construction of blocks of flats in the location «Morfi» Perivolia, Lefkada (EIAS 150):

This study constitutes the EIpAS and the EIAS of the project. The study, as stated in the title, involves the construction and operation of blocks of flats along with the necessary infrastructure and landscaping works. The blocks will be built over an plot of 5.600 m2 in the location «Morfi» Perivolia in the town of Lefkada. They will accommodate about 48 families, whose homes suffered major damage during earthquakes in the summer of 2003. The agency responsible for the project is the Earthquake Victim Rehabilitation Service of the Secretariat of Public Works of the MEPW. In the study, the environmental impacts caused by the construction and operation of the project, including the impact of the project to the infrastructure network of the wider region, were examined and evaluated at a primary level and appropriate measures in order to tackle these effects were suggested.

Amari Interchange upon the New National Road Rethymno – Amari (EIAS 130)

Amari Interchange upon the New National Road Rethymno – Amari (EIAS 130 & 130B):

Amari Interchange upon the New National Road Rethymno – Amari (EIAS 130 & 130B): These studies constitute the Environmental Impact Preassessment Study (EIpAS) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Study (EIAS) for the construction and operation of Amari interchange at K.P. 62+078 of the Heraklio-Rethymno New National Road. Construction works include: (a) the construction of a diamond interchange, (b) local improvements of the Amari - Rethymnon Old National Road, (c) construction of a secondary road that connects the Old National Road with the New District Road Amari – Rethymno, (d) construction of 2 roads (SR1 and SR2) to restore the continuity of the local roads. The total length of road network is about 5Km… The environmental impacts caused by the construction and operation of the project were examined and evaluated and appropriate measures to tackle these effects were suggested.  

Within the framework of the study, a specific study of phytotechnical formation of the interchange was also conducted.

Construction and Operation of Kavala’s New Prefectorial General Hospital (EIAS 129)

Construction and Operation of Kavala’s New Prefectorial General Hospital (EIAS 129):

This study constitutes the Environmental Impact Pre-assessment Study (EIpAS) of Kavala’s New Prefectorial General Hospital, of total capacity 374 beds, at the west of the city of Kavala. The hospital has a total floor area of 37.500 m2 and 6 floors of total height of approximately 20 m. The hospital is built on a land of 6 ha. In the study, the environmental impacts caused by the construction and operation of the project were examined and evaluated and appropriate measures to tackle these effects were suggested.
