Amendment of JMD/DAET 104050/17.05.2006 as amended, renewed and in force, for the project “Underground carriageway link of car terminal with the former site of the Public Material Management Organization-PMMO”(ΕΙΑS 380)

The present Environmental Study concerns the amendment of the approved Environmental Terms of the “Investment and Development Programme OLP SA” (Joint Ministerial Decision 104050/17.05.2006 DAET) for the environmental approval of the project “Underground carriageway link of car terminal with the former site of PMMO”.

The project involves the road link of the Car Terminal G2 with the former site of PMMO, where the development of a Logistics Center is planned. The total length of the project is approximately 500m. With the implementation of this project, the uninterrupted road connection exclusively within the Terrestrial Port Area of OLP, of two important for the  operation of the commercial port districts, located on both sides of Dimokratias Avenue, is achieved. At the same time, the burdening the existing road network of the area outside the Terrestrial Port Area, from heavy goods vehicles traffic is avoided.

EIA for the renewal and amendment of environmental terms for the Soroni-Rhodes SEPS of PPC SA. (ΕΙΑ377Α,377Β)

Soroni SEPS is located in the coastal zone of the Municipality of Rhodes, at northwestern part of the island. It is located approximately 17km southwest of the city of Rhodes, while the nearest settlement is Theologos, which lies northeast at a distance of 1.3km from the station. The station has been operating for many decades. The proposed ammendment concerns the change in the technical characteristics of the activity licensed with the current DAET (2008) and in particular:

• the installation and operation of a new Gas Turbine,

• the installation and operation of a subsea diesel pipeline

• the installation of 10 new transformers with simultaneous dismantling/removal of 10 existing ones

• the installation and operation of a new desalination unit

• the operation of ten existing drillings for water supply and

• the installation and operation of a new water intake pipeline.

Environmental Impact Assessment for the amendment of the JMD/DAET 203064/06-09-2011 for the extension of Thessaloniki Metro to Kalamaria (EIAS 379,376)

The study aims at modifying the Environmental Terms of the project of the extension of the Thessaloniki Metro to Kalamaria as originally approved by the Joint Ministerial Decision No. 203064/06-09-2011 (ADA: 4ΑΧ80-3ΦΤ) and subsequently extended and modified with various decisions. This particular study covers the following:

• Environmental approval of three additional excavation disposal sites, for about 400.000 m3 resulting from the construction of the main project, in addition to the already approved ones

• modifications - amendments in configuration and overall activities taking place 2 of the 8 authorized worksite sites of the main project and a small spatial extension of one of them and

• modification – amendments concerning the approval of an additional route for excavation material transport, within the urban area, during the construction phase of the main project and particularly from /to the construction site “Mikra Station, Intersections and Terminal Shaft” up to the main Thessaloniki – N.Moudania motorway and Thessaloniki Ring Road.

Improvement of the alignment and widening of the old ATHENS - THIVON National Road in Mandra-Erythres section (EIAS 374)

The project titled " Improvement of the alignment and widening of the Old National Road of Athens - Thiva in the segment Mandra - Erythres up to the County Borders" was environmentally licensed by the Joint Ministerial Decision 141011 / 12.10.2005, on the Approval of Environmental Terms (DAET).

The project   started from the connection  of the Old National Road of Athens – Thiva, with Attiki Odos in Mandra (K.P. 0+000) and ended close to the settlement of Pournari (K.P. 17+738), close to Oinoi.

This study proposes the renewal of the DAET as well as minor modifications of the licensed project concerning the addition of two intersections serving adjacent users. The proposed amendment concerns the restoration of their proper operation (marking, etc.) following  the construction of the main road section.

"Hydroelectric Project (HEP) Metsovitikou of PPC SA In the location "Chrysovitsa", Municipality of Metsovo, Ioannina » (EIAS 373)

The project titled "Hydroelectric Project (HEP) Metsovitikou of PPC SA in the location "Chrysovitsa", which is located in the Municipality of Metsovo, Ioannina " and has been granted an environmental permit under the JMD No. 83291 / 19-02-1996, as it was renewed and modified by the JMD  No. 106861 / 31-07-2008, on the Approval of Environmental Terms (DAET).

The present study proposes the renewal of the above DAET as well as a minor modification of the licensed project concerning the relocation of the Substation of the project, about 25m upstream of the originally planned site.

“Project  involving a. Improvement works of  NRAC between the I/C Airport and the I/C Karteros, b. Improvement works for I/C Karteros, c. Parallel Road Network of the above sections  ” (EIAS 372)

The project titled " a. Improvement works of  NRAC between the I/C Airport and the I/C Karteros, b. Improvement works for I/C Karteros, c. Parallel Road Network of the above sections  "has been granted an environmental permit under the Joint Ministerial Decision 122245 / 2-7-2004 (DAET).

This study proposes the renewal of the above mentioned  JMD, which expired at the end of 2014, as well as minor modifications of the licensed project aiming at upgrading the configuration  of Karteros interchange.

The study assessed the environmental impacts of the construction and operation of the project and suggested appropriate mitigation measures.
