Environmental Impact Assessment Study of the Road Project “Detour of Pachia Ammos of the segment Pachia Ammos - Afxenas Agathias of NRAC” (EIAS 369)

The present Environmental Impact Assessment Study (EIAS) concerns the road project of the Pachia Ammos bypass, which is part of the Northern Road Axis of Crete (NRAC). The studied section starts from the Frouzis Bridge and ends 3.6km before the entrance of Kavousi; it is about 5.76km long and extends to the regional unit (R.U.) of Lassithi between Ag. Nicholas and Sitia.

The project under consideration is part of a series of projects aiming at the upgrading of the NRAC to a highway, according to pre-existing studies and research related to the subject. The need for this upgrade has  emerged from traffic and other transport related data (accidents, dangerous sites locally, etc.),

The study assessed the environmental impacts of the construction and operation of the project and suggested appropriate remedial measures.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT STUDY FOR THE UPGRADING AND MODERNIZATION OF EXISTING 4 * CLASSIC 200 BED HOTEL, AT M.U.OF PALIKI  OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KEFALONIA (EIAS 365)

The project concerns the operation of a 4-star 200 beds classic hotel unit called "Ionian Sea Hotel", at the Municipal Unit of Paliki, Municipality of Kefalonia, and a plot outside the boundaries of the settlement, Mantzavinata.

The study assessed the environmental impacts of the construction and operation of the project and suggested appropriate remedial measures.

Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the Water Supply System towards the Lignite System of Western Macedonia from Polyfyto Reservoir.

This study concerns the environmental authorization of the water supply system of SEPS of Kardia, Ag. Dimitrios, Ptolemaida, Amyntaiou-Filota (now: SEPS Amyntaiou) and in the future of the new Unit V, of  SEPS Ptolemaidas (replacement of the existing units III and IV), of west Macedonia Lignite center (WMLC), of PPC, with industrial water from the reservoir Polyfytou. The work includes the pipeline that transfers the water from Polyfyto to the tanks of SEPS, as well as the supporting facilities like pumping stations, reservoirs, wells and tanks.

Environmental Impact Assessment study of Kolonelo Stream in Siteia town, Crete

The objective of this study is, the assessment of the environmental impacts from the construction of the necessary hydraulic works to Kolonelo stream within an area under urbanization in the town of Siteia, Crete. The length of the stream is about 470m.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT STUDY OF PROJECT “OPERATION AND SAFETY IMPROVEMENT WORKS OF ROAD SECTION GEVRGIOUPOLH – PETRES OF CNRA”

The objective of this study is, the assessment of environmental impacts for the improvement of road safety at t section Georgioupoli-Petres of the Northern Road Axis of Crete, with short term, immediate yield and low cost measures. The specific segment is in operation and the study examines the use of the current road segment Georgioupoli-Petres from an environmental point of view , along with the small scale interventions that are suggested in order to improve the safety of the road of this specific segment.

98 beds 4 **** hotel unit, with the distinctive title "KLELIA" owned by C. B &. OE Tsourounakis - Upgrading and modernization of an existing unit (EIA 345)

The project concerns a Hotel Unit located in "Varvassi" Local Community, in Kalamaki , Laganas of Zakynthos. The plot is in part within the limits of the village and in within zone T1 of the National Marine Park of Zakynthos.

This EIS concerns the upgrading and modernizing of an existing hotel, which was built with a valid building permit in category 3 *** hotel unit in 1994, for conversion to a modern standards 4 ****hotel. Because of the specificity of location of the unit within the NMPZ its capacity is limited by the provisions of the relevant Presidential Decree.
