Investigation for alternative methods of water supply to the island Corfu (TES 113)

The objectives of the report were to assess the current and future water shortages, left by, the exploitation of the existing good quality underground water reserves of the island and to provide to the responsible Authority (Prefecture of Corfu) the necessary, sanitary, technical and financial information needed for the selection of the best solution to cover the relative water deficits.

Study for the waste water disposal of the Markopoulo Municipality WWTP. (TES 108): 

At the Merenta location in Markopoulo Municipality, a WWTP was constructed, for the biological treatment of urban wastewater of Markopoulo and the nearby villages, of the city Kalivia and Kouvara. The method of treatment is the system of active sludge with extended aeration and complete stabilization of the sludge and biological nitrogen removal. The study assesses the impact of the disposal method to the nearby stream  and monitoring measures are proposed for the safe disposal of wastewater from the environmental and hygiene point of view.

GUMBEL Distribution in rain gauging stations of the water departments 04, 05, 06, 07, 08 (TES 120)

Application of the GUMBEL Distribution in rain measuring stations of the water departments 04, 05, 06, 07, 08 (TES 120):

The aim of this study is the use of daily rainfall data of the water departments in order to determine the maximum daily height of rain for several return periods. This is achieved with the use of the Gumbel distribution on daily rainfall data of stations in the study area.

The distribution was implemented in 114 rain measuring stations.

Water balance of itanos Municipality, Lasithi County, Crete (TES 109):

The aim of this study was the calculation of water balance in Itanos Municipality, taking into account the hydrological characteristics (precipitation, meteorological parameters), topographic (average altitude, and gradients based on the digital ground model (DTM)) and hydro-geological characteristics (formations, permeability, infiltration rate) of the municipality’s territorial area.

Waste water management plan of the project “SHEP of Borino, Pella” (TES 119 & 121)

Waste water management plan of the project “SHEP of Borino, Pella” (TES 119&TES 121):

The project involves the construction of Small Hydro Electric Plan (SHEP), 4.1 MW power, on the stream Asprorrema, north of the settlements Vorino and Neohori of Almopias province, prefecture of Pella. The management plan aims to the optimal and environmentally safe handling of all liquid waste products of the SHEP.
