Crete Northern Road (CNR): Section: Pahia Ammos-Afhenas Agathias, Subsection: Frouzi Bridge – Pahia Ammos (EIA 221):
The project concerns the improvement of the road section Frouzi bridge – Pahia Ammos. The section has a total length of 6.556m. The existing road has currently a width of 6-7m and unfavorable geometry, while it passes through a series of settlements. Thus there is an immediate need to improve the CNR in this section. It is noted that the road design has taken into account the recently modified limits of a very important archaeological site, the site of Gournia. The major engineering works include 5 bridges, 1 twin tunnel, 3 underpasses and 1 interchange. Prepared fοr: MITN-GSPW /SSPW/CNR
